My research background focuses on controlling the microstructure and mechanical behavior of lightweight metallic materials, particularly aluminum and magnesium based alloys and composites, through alloy design, thermomechanical processing, and microstructural engineering. I investigate how composition, phase formation, and processing history determine the resulting microstructure and final properties of these materials.
Current Work
Hybrid Microstructure

My current research focuses on developing a hybrid microstructure in AA5182 aluminum alloy to improve the balance between strength and ductility. Since AA5182 is a non-heat-treatable alloy and cannot be strengthened through conventional precipitation hardening, this work explores microstructural heterogeneity through controlled deformation and heat treatment as an alternative route to enhancing its mechanical performance.
